In this episode of the podcast, Mike Samuels (of The DUP Method) and I discuss Daily Undulating Periodization. A training method that has been rising in popularity, and for good reason.
Daily Undulating Periodization (DUP): Refers to using different loads, reps, and sets in a resistance training program on different days of the week.
DUP Training Example:
Want the BEST DUP Routine?
The concept of DUP isn’t that difficult to understand, but putting it all together into the best routine for you is a different matter – just where the hell do you start!?
The example above is perhaps for a more advanced lifter.
If you’re just starting out, perhaps the methods Mike discusses in the Low Reps VS High Reps for Size and Strength article are a better choice.
With DUP training, however, there is not shortness of choices.
Mike (Samuels) and Jason Maxwell (another buddy of mine) have put together “The DUP Manual” which has DUP programs for –
– Hypertrophy
– Strength
– Peaking for Powerlifting
– Hardgainers
– Newbie Lifters
– Advanced Trainers
– Busy Guys
– Injured Folk
